Methods in Action: “Interactive Assessment of Information Quality through Visual Analytics”

The “Methods in Action Series” course “Interactive Assessment of Information Quality through Visual Analytics” is organized by  Department of Computer Control, and Management Engineering Antonio Ruberti, Sapienza University of Rome and will take place on online platform on 2 May, 5 May and 9 May 2022.

Topic and objective

•Dealing with data and information quality
•Presenting the most used techniques for assessing Information Quality of Performance Models
•The components of the VAE Software include:

a.  Correlation Analysis,

b.  Map Analysis,

c.  Mono dimensional Analysis,

d.  Multidimensional Analysis,

e.  Autocorrelation Analysis,

f.  Feature Importance Analysis,

g.  Ratio Analysis,

h.  Anomalies checks,

i.  Consistency Checks

j.  Time Series Forecasting.

•Test the the Visual Analytics Environment (VAE) Software using real datasets from RISIS

Online course including:

•On-line lectures presenting the main techniques of Information Quality implemented in the Visual Analytics Environment (VAE)
•Group exercises where participants will experiment the different approaches available in the VAE on real datasets from RISIS
•Plenary discussion on the exercises carried out

09:15–10:15 Lecture: A Visual Analytics Approach for the Assessment of Information Quality of Performance Models by Marco Angelini

10:30–11:30 Visual Analytics Environment (VAE) Software

tutorial by Luca Urban

11:30–12:00 Task assignment

 

5th May 2022

13:00–15:00 interim discussion with groups lead by Marco Angelini and Luca Urban

 

9th May 2022

9:00–11:00 Group presentations

11:00–12:00 Final discussion and assessment of the used Software

The course aims at involving participants among the following categories:

Course prerequisites:

Basic requisite for admission will be:

•Knowledge of basic principle of statistics
•During the course the Visual Analytics Environment (VAE) Software will be introduced, presented and let available to participants
•Before the beginning of the course, we will provide participants with basic materials and readings
