ESOF2022, Europe’s biggest multidisciplinary and prestigious conference will take place in the city of Leiden, the Netherlands, form 13 to 16 July 2022 in a fully hybrid scientific conference with both onsite and/or online participation options for delegates coming from all over the world.
Participants will join a diverse scientific and networking programme of over 120 sessions; multiple satellite events, 6 pre-conference workshops, 2 plenary sessions, 7 keynote speakers, one for each the seven tracks organized in this edition, special sessions , 80 poster presentations. Among them in the prestigious scenario of the Pieterskerk related to the theme Freedom and responsibility of Science the RISIS Poster entitled Fostering evidence-based policy making by research infrastructures: the RISIS experience and legacy will be illustrated.
The theme of ESOF2022 is Crossing Borders, Engaged Science, Resilient Societies structured around 7 tracks: Sustainable Environment, Cultural Identities and Transformation, Space for Science, Healthy Societies, Freedom and Responsibility of Science, Science and Business, Sustainable Academic Careers. ESOF routinely brings together over 4,500 leading thinkers, innovators, policy makers, journalists, educations from more than 90 countries to discuss current and future breakthroughs in contemporary science. Each conference aims to deliver stimulating content using a wide range of creative and interactive session formats meant to foster a lively exchange of ideas through debate and other interactions.
The contribution of RISIS in supporting scientific freedom and societal challenges is growing up along with the outputs of the project, and its large community of more than 1.200 among researchers and policymakers. RISIS aims to facilitate transnational access to research infrastructure, pursue infrastructure innovation and sustainability thanks to 15 Datasets and 2 Organisation Registers (Orgreg and Firmreg) to study the dynamics of knowledge. ESID and EFIL , the newest in the Datasets family, have been built to help researchers’ community in exploring new analyses and dimension. RISIS ESID European Social Innovation Database is a comprehensive and authoritative source of information on social innovation projects and actors in Europe and beyond. The main goal: to collect information about social innovation projects and actors, using machine learning and natural language processing techniques. EFIL – European dataset of public R&D funding instruments aims at enabling users to investigate public R&D funding in Europe at the level of project funding instruments and Research Funding Organizations (RFO), addressing questions related to policy design and policy implementation.
The EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) was founded in 2004 by EuroScience, the non-profit organization of researchers in Europe. It is a biennial meeting designed to offer the scientific community a platform for interdisciplinary and intersectional debate about scientific culture, scientific research and innovation, for and with society.
