RISIS at ItalCS2Italy2026: Mapping Europe’s Hydrogen Transition Through Network Analysis

Conference season 2026 is on the move, and RISIS is there!

Today Antonio Zinilli, Angela Zanoni, and Emanuela Reale (IRCrES-CNR)have presentated their latest research at the Italian Conference on Computational Social Science (ItalCS2Italy2026), held at OGR Torino, Italy, on 19-21 May 2026.

Their paper, “Bridging the Hydrogen Divide: How Network Evolution Reveals Future Territorial Imbalances in Europe”, investigates the dynamics of hydrogen-related research and innovation networks across European territories. By tracking how these networks evolve over time, the study sheds light on emerging territorial disparities that may shape the continent’s green energy transition, a topic of growing relevance for both research communities and policymakers.

The analysis draws on the EFL dataset, developed in RISIS and enhanced within NRRP Project FOSSR (Fostering Open Science in Social Science Research), showcasing how the continued development of RISIS resources across interconnected research initiatives enables innovative computational approaches to address pressing societal and policy questions.

ItalCS2Italy2026 brings together scholars working at the intersection of computational methods and social science, making it an ideal venue to highlight the potential of RISIS datasets for advancing evidence-based research on science, technology, and innovation. It is worth noting that Antonio Zinilli is among the founding members of the Society Computational Social Science Italy, the association that promotes this growing scientific community in Italy.
